FAST FORWARD

Base coat dupont 8555, let it sit 24 hours........then flipped thru a magazine and chose a quick subtle paint mod, threw the blue/silver tuxedo stripes on it

And this is 3 coats SPI universal. I used to clear with a SATA RP, so i set my HVLP up the same. FULL fan, almost all the way backed out on fluid tip, take the regulator off the gun, set the air pressure "by ear" and HAMMER it on. THIS CLEAR IS AMAZING! flowed out great, minimal wetsanding needed, mainly just a few nibs. I'm reassembling this week, will post completed photos soon

Nice work Cuz!

Now I'm gonna have to go the whole route with my Ranger project. Thanks lol

Looks good, not a bad project, may be worth keeping.
I had to laugh when i saw door for 100 and corner for 300. seem it would be the other way around as doors are more in demand, but I guess they had to work to get the corner off. lol.

Yeah Chad, one would think. But I forgot to mention I got the door and bed from Craigslist, otherwise I would have paid $350 for a door and $400 for a bedside, and I would have never bought the truck!

ANYWAY, here are a few finished photos. Just wrapped it up today

Here's a shot of the tailgate. This clear is amazing stuff. The truck in the photo in the reflection is my V8 GMC Sonoma,

The blue started off as chrysler intense pearl blue. The whole truck is ppg nexa autocolor. I added a BUNCH of xyrillic blue pearl and silver pearl, guarantee you will not find this color anywhere else. I dont spray autocolor anymore, but called my local jobber. I wrote down the mix when I sprayed it, he quoted me $200 a quart!!! Just the base is $107, the other $93 is pearls!!! Didnt bother me when I worked at the shop and used it daily on the mixing bank, but now i'm hoping not to damage it EVER!!!

And I used the last of it for the stripes on the fullsize!

some work has been done to this after those pics were taken, new wheels, tint, smoothed and painted bumper plastics and door handles, and an in dash TV screen

painted the wheels the PB3 dodge blue, then concentrate in the SPI clear base, then 4000 clear on it all
