2k on bumper covers?

Hi Guys,

I'm painting a 1996 Honda Del Sol and I'm wondering if I could shoot regular 2k over them, then base and clear, skipping the epoxy step? Will there be adhesion/cracking issues if done? The reason I want to take this approach is because the bumper was a hair wavy and I want to straighten it out a bit.

If broke through you will still need adhesion promoter in those spots but yest you can apply the 2K over the bumper, just make sure you block most of it off as you want mininal mils.
Draw back will be this will be the most susceptible to stone chipping and perhaps cracking if it gets to thick.

thanks Barry. I just did the rear bumper this way, and plan on using just epoxy for the front bumper. Is the regular 2k primer flexible at all, or do people usually use a flex additive?

Thin the primer has fair flex like most, thick they lose it.
On a rear bumper, I would not waste the money for flex additive.
