66 Corvette Primer? sealer? repair material?

Chris

This is a car that i am turning into a restomod. The entire car is fiberglass minus the upper portions of the coupe doors, the headlamp grilles, and the headlamp buckets. I need to know if i should seal the fiberglass or if i am ok to just prime. Also, i have a question about a wheel well lip repair below.
Thanks

1. The body has never been hit, but the front wheel well lips are cracking in the middle where the fender panel, side panel with louvers, and front parking lamp panel meet.
-What would be best to reinforce this area? I will reinforce it on the wheel well side, but will need to grind out and fill in the crack on the exterior side as well. Reinforce with fiberglass cloth, mat, or???

2. Which primer do i want to use on the fiberglass body? The car was sanded down by hand by the previous owner. He put filler on top of some of the bonding strip locations and i will need to sand/grind that filler off before priming or sealing the car. They also sprayed some maroon color on the fenders, but that will all be sanded off before i prime the car. The headlamp buckets will be removed and primed separately, so i dont necessarily need to use the same primer on the fiberglass that i will use on the metal.

Thanks a ton!

Best sealer you can put on is SPI epoxy. Doesnt matter if it is fiberglass or metal.

If you are going to restomod that car and it is an original '66 Corvette, PLEASE do not alter the body. You can't improve on that classic design!

No, the body will stay exactly as it is. I do not care for flared wheel wells, glassed in front in, chin spoiler, etc. The only fiberglass that will be altered is the rear storage area and jackwell. They will be raised 3" for clearance of the c6 suspension. Oh, and i plan to add a 67 big block hood, but that is all.

I havent started on it yet. The chassis with the c6 suspension is in the works at street shop chassis works, but i havent managed to find time to even get the body off of he original frame yet. I plan to start on it in about 3 weeks though.
