Acrylic Urethane and poly urethane ?

This is probably for Barry. Or anyone that knows.

First, ive steered people towards Barrys clear for years now. And sometimes I get resistance once they see its a polyurethane (some start thinking of Minwax lol ).
Others argue that 'polyurethane' actually isnt true and that its just a urethane.
Which I do not believe, but I dont have the verbage to back that up.

So, is a polyurethane a urethane with proprietary amounts of polyester.... OR is a polyurethane simply a urethane with 2 or more types of iso's?
What makes a poly a poly?

Second, what makes the 'Acrylic' in an acrylic Urethane?

Any help is appreciated fellers.

A lot of truth to what the people have said as most PU's are as phony as a three dollar bill.
We are doing exactly what the poly means, mixing different blends of polyol to achieve what we want in a clear.
Best test of difference is let set (1 inch) mixed in a painters pail for 2-3 months, then pull out, that will separate the men from the boys real quick.

Thanks Barry. I wasnt implying anything, or tryin to get any secrets. I just have been in a few convo's lately, and couldnt determine whether pu's have polyester in them (typically). Or a blend of polyols. So makes sense (poly meaning 'many').
Now I know. Thanks!
