Any tricks to matching panels?

I

I am re-painting a 35' motorhome. There are 9 compartment doors on each side . I took the doors off one side to do them individually (I am doing them in my garage, one at a time). The are coming out great, but the problem is that they each look like a slightly different shade!! Some look darker than others. I don't have the time or space to do them all at once so I need to do them this way.

I am using Prospray 3.5 gray metallic and SPI Production clear. Would the fact that the darker panel was setting in the sun for several days after clearing while the other one was freshly painted make any difference? Any suggestions on how I can get them to match better??

Also, can I rebase right over the Production clear, or do I need to use epoxy again?

Thanks!

You should paint metallics positioned as they are installed on the vehicle and all at the same time. Otherwise it is tough to get them perfectly matched.

Temp, humidity, technique, gun type, air pressure and orientation of the parts can all effect appearance of metallic colors, not to mention imperfect mixing of the material in the can, or variations in amount of reduction or reducer speed. Sorry to say that in your situation, you may be stuck with a less than perfect result.
