Anyone have a great upholster in or near Dallas Texas?

Okay this is a long story so if you don't have the time to read it just post who you would recommend around the Dallas Texas area.

My Fiance and I inherited her fathers 14 year project just over 3 years ago. I will post the build thread over here if you would like to see it. To make a really long story short Ashley's father had major heart surgery and we almost lost him. He gave her the truck once he was safely home, and gave me the responsibility of making the truck everything she wants. Now she pushed back our wedding a year so we could surprise her father at the wedding with the truck completed and in a fashion he could only dream of. I have put over 1500 hours into the truck doing everything myself. The only thing I don't have the balls to attempt is the interior.

I had a guy lined out with a agreed time line and price that was nailed down 3 weeks ago. Our budget was and is drained so I sold a mutual fund to afford this interior because this has become a huge part of our life and a very very important thing to do for her father. I have been working 16 hour days the last 3 weeks to get the cab and doors painted and on the chassis so I could take it to him by the 2nd week in August to do the interior. Earlier tonight I had an odd feeling and sent him a text just to make sure we were still good to go on the delivery of our truck to his shop. He informed me that he couldn't take in anything until November.....WTF? Here is the biggest issue with that. Our wedding is November 21st. Not a snowballs chance in hell of him finishing it by then.

So here is where I sit. I have a custom made seat frame that will be here next week. I have several sheets of aluminum that I bought for the interior guy to use that was at his request.

What I need:

Someone to execute the job that I can trust and won't rip my head off on the price.

Seat upholstered (I already have the simple design)
Door panels made and upholstered (I have this design also)
Carpet
Kick panels
headliner
rear cab surround

I don't want or need any super fancy designs in anything. Just nice crisp clean work.

I understand this might be asking a lot of someone, but I assure you the impact that you will have in our lives and our families lives will be HUGE.

Shine would know.

Need pictures of the truck so far, lets not wait until done.!!!!

i have been ripped off on the last 4 jobs. expect to pay big bucks to anyone worth a damn. a good shop is booked way ahead by a year or more.
don {da34guy} has a fellow in oklahoma that does all his deuces . find him on streetrodding.com or club hot rod.

found his number

tim rein interiors 405 779 9111

Shine, thanks for the contact however I have seen Tim's latest work and to put it nicely. It isn't up to par with what I call "Quality".

i've seen several of his jobs on 32's. seemed ok to me but he also does not charge 10k for a roadster. good luck with your quest.

When piping is crooked and corners are bunched I dont feel that is quality. Im not looking to win a riddler but I do expect clean straight lines.

After investing that much time into the rest of the project, farming out the upholstery doesn't make a lot of sense. Given your fixed deadline, turning the upholstery over to some stranger is almost a guaranteed disaster.

A used industrial sewing machine and the rest of the special tools would cost a few hundred bucks. If you buy vinyl material instead of Italian leather you can control the cost even more. Give yourself a month (August) for the rear cab surround, kick panels and headliner. A second month (September) for the door panels and carpet. A third month (October) for the seat. I suspect you could cut that time in half but also suspect you'd throw out your first attempts. Get your fiance to help and really make a statement that you two did everything yourselves.

Learning to sew is just like all the other skills you've mastered and there are a bunch of Youtube videos that can get you started.

Use sue from the "ass monkeys"...I mean gas monkeys lol. They are in Texas!

Or I could just ask the neighbors 8 year old to do it. I wouldn't trust ASM to make me a table cloth!

I already have the ultraleather, carpet, and jute padding. I have about 1100.00 sitting in materials. Buying a quality walking foot machine with a table used will be about 700-1000 bucks.

All of that said I still have the bed to mess with. This in itself is a month long project. Then I have to worry about wiring the entire chassis, double checking everything, and then getting it all tuned.

I'm really needing someone to handle covering the seat, making the cab surround, and doing the headliner. I know how to do all the rest.

Sometimes you just have to look harder for local talent. There's a Mennonite fella in my town who nobody has heard of that does really clean work on autos and antique furniture. Surely there is someone like that around you. You might inquire with some local shops and antique dealers just for luck, you never know.
