Applying primer

Hello,
I am restoring a 1950's pop machine and had it sand blasted and then applied SPI epoxy primer. Have to remove some dings and dents and want to apply sanding primer to get it smooth. I know that on bikes and autos what I am about to ask is unheard of, but I would like to use a foam roller to roll on the primer. Would the 2k primer be suitable for this? Thanks

I think is states right on the can that Turbo primer can be applied with a roller. I've brushed a few areas and never had any problems. Don't reduce it.

If it is anything like the SPI black epoxy, be sure the roller is a very short nap. Roll it on slowly. If you go too fast, it will leave tiny bubbles that may or may not flow out. I've done several suspension parts this way and it turned out fine.

Some guys have had good success with just using a blow dryer on the cool setting to blow the bubbles out.

I was just doing some more reading up on rolling epoxy, and there was a thread where it was still recommended to wear a good respirator. I guess the fumes are still to be considered.
Nothing mentioned about a bunny suit, just a good respirator.

Epoxy fumes are not poisonous, per se, but many people develop a sensitivity to it, that can affect long term lung function. Also, many people can develop this sensitivity by repeatedly getting epoxy on their skin. To be safe, always wear a respirator when spraying anything, and wearing nitrile gloves is a good idea to keep epoxy off your skin when mixing.

I sprayed the epoxy primer, but my question was if I could roll the 2k standard build primer. I have seen some do it, so I guess I'll try it.

What about 2k?

Do we need wear a respirator when rolling 2k

Should we wear a full bunny suit when rolling 2k?
