are all poly-sprays created equal?

I know BondoMerchant who post on the Refinishnetwork site as well as the 101 site, loves evercoat poly primer.. He started using the 4:1 when it came out and loves it.. Bondo was the one who got me to try poly again after I fell out with it.. I really dont see how you can go wrong with evercoat polys.. I gotta gallon setting downstairs for the Camero

I often use the evercoat g2 poly filler do my blocking then reblock with fine paper through the stages and simpley spray a wet coat of spi epoxy let set 1 hr base and clear

use this method alot on black paint jobs never any scratches and get some of the nicest black jobs around for Harleys and suck and saves on 2 part putty no primer needed and never had any problems. Only problem i have had is the jobs i get from somebody seeing my last job, I have just to much on my plate to stay busy and such.

Be very careful using evercoat eurofil i think its called in canada comes yellow and grey, use that on a crx yrs back did all the work blocked out reprimed whole car blocked and was straight as an arrow, painted it with single stage black urethane and funny enough thats how i got my job painting at the body shop i borrowed the booth from, but 3 weeks after the car was painted it sunk so bad ( and i have seen it many times with this primer after the fact) I would never admit i did the car , had i kept it i would of repainted it but was sold already.

I would bet Evercoat doesn't sell a whole bunch of the Eurofil and you might have gotten some old hardener which delayed the cure. SPI's turbo primer works just fine for anything I need a good sanding final surfacer for. I know one guy that downright abuses the turbo primer and his work looks great without any signs of shrinkage. I do like poly for the heavy blocking though.

I just got done using a gallon of slicsand on a mustang and i love how this stuff builds.

I have used just about all brands of poly primer. Spies and standox have a very good poly but can be quite pricey. I have been using U-Pol reface and love it. About half the price as spies and i think is just as good. Very high build. But u will need at least a 2.5 tip to spray it. About 70 bucks for a 2.5 liter
