Baking Epoxy

Can anyone give me recommendations on how long to bake epoxy? Just got an infrared heater to help with the cold winters!

Medium wave. Some parts are being baked with epoxy as a final finish, others are being baked to prepare them for sanding or basecoat. I'll sure take advice on all the different recommendations as I'm sure I'll use epoxy as a topcoat, sealer, etc throughout the winter.

This is what Mr. Kives told me. At least, that's what I wrote down.

The difference between med and short may be a few minutes.

I don't have an answer for the sanding part. I'd say try a test panel and see what happens. Then, tell me.

There is a real problem here as if epoxy can't be problematic enough by itself.

There is no one answer to fit all with cooking epoxy, example cook it for 60 mins or longer depending on lamp and watts and two days later shoot something and hope it sticks,
EVERY procedure may require a different time level, that is why when people call, I ask 10,000 questions before answering, not to waste your time but so i don't screw you up.

Short wave is normally twice as fast as a medium wave.

OK. My main concern would be baking it enough to where there won't be adhesion problems down the road. I'm trying to save myself from having to heat my shop for 24 hours when I paint something small, like the backside of a rocker before I put it in. Or one of my small projects, like a fridge door. I'm in my shop a couple hours every other day and it takes a lot to heat it to 65.

For something your not going to paint the back of rocker, its a non issue, do 30 minutes with medium at about 2.5 feet away and it is done, let it drop to 0 after that.

Also just a safety not with these infra's, metal temp best kept under 125 for most products as a safety sake.
