Bonding aluminum to fiberglass

What is a good bonding agent I can use to basically glue some aluminum strips to the outer edge of a fiberglass door to support the fender just so it doesnt flex inward.

Here are some pics of what I am talking about. I just want to extend a strip about 1" out from the front of the door. Glued on the inside to basically form a backing support. 20120424_225833.jpg

Can you find a point or two that when pressed with hold the fender in the postion you want? If so it would be simple to make a couple posts and mount to the cowl area that would use the rubber tipped hood bumpers. Adjustable too.

Everything is already mounted. Its just the sides are really flexible on the front end. I dont like that, plus it doesnt hold the exact same shape as the door. So when the door is shut it will lightly push on the backside of the fender/front end giving it the appearance that it all lines up like stamped steel.

here is an idea of what I want to do. This door has the extension already molded in.door extension.jpg

I've been googling it and i see there are a number of products that can do this. I am just looking for some positive feedback from someone on a product that they have used and had success with.

I found an SEM 39747 product that seems to be the ticket for what I need.

My only bitch is. The adhesive itself costs $35 but the damn applicator gun is $80...WTF!!!!!
