Bondo, SPI wax & grease

I read in another thread that some of you have use the SPI Waterborne wax and grease remover over bondo without issue.
I waited 3 days after spraying epoxy to do bondo work. I used Evercoat Z-Grip. I waited 24 hours after bondo to wipe down with W&G remover. I waited 1-1/2 after wiping with W&G before I sprayed epoxy. After the first coat I got the outline of the bondo that I applied. I applied a second coat after 30 minutes and the outline did not go away.

Should I be worried about this?

Also one on of the panels, I could not get a picture to take I have a pea size area that looks like contamination. It has tiny little divots. Should I sand back to bare metal or can I just sand smooth and epoxy over?

Thanks

No need to worry-it's fine. Here's the deal... the filler will absorb the epoxy, some paints will absorb solvent, metal won't. These different absorbtion rates will show on that first application of epoxy but will disappear on your next application once the surface has been sealed. The tiny divots might be small imperfections in the filler(common)-if they are pinholes just give them a swipe with filler or polyester glaze, sand it flush and carry on. If the divot is on an area on bare metal it might have been contamination-a photo would show. Shoot another coat the next day and these filler areas won't show. Mustang? One thing to thing about dealing with vent panel areas is-these vents area a real PITA to sand every time you shoot more primer and add build so if the area is in good condition just strategically mask it off to keep the buildup low then unmask and prep before the last round of primer-hope that makes sense. Keep your tape line in an area that's easily sandable or roll the tape for a feathered edge.

Thanks Bob,
Yes, it is a Mustang. I am working on a 66 convertible. I will hit it with some more primer today. The vent area is a pain.

The contamination is on bare metal. I just cannot get a picture to show it. Maybe I will just sand that back down to metal and reshoot.
