Buffing Universal Clear

Sprayed Universal Clear for the first time today, and I love it! Going to give it a day and a half before buffing a two coat car lot spot job. Can i use my 3m polishing perfect it compound I normally use on other clears with a wool pad, followed up with a finishing polish (3m) with a foam pad. I hear some say use only foam pads with Universal as it is quite soft if it has not sat a while before buffing. It will have sat for almost a day and a half and I will cut it open with 1000 then 1500 for a car lot buff finish. This is a black paint job. Is this ok?
 
Forgot to mention I was thinking of cutting it open with 1000, then going to 1500 and letting it sit maybe half a day before buffing. Any ideas?
 
That would work great.

Another idea, wetsand with 1000 and throw out in sun for 1/2 a day, then 1500 and throw out in sun for a few hours, let cool and buff.
