combating the fog

years ago, when we had chicken houses, i had a helmet with a full face shield and a belt battery. that thing had a fan and filter set in the back that blew cool filtered air over your head. i didnt use it much back then but wish i had it now. i checked, they cost 1k now days!
i caught chickens when i was in junior high . late night and come home covered in shit. mom made me hose off and change in the garage. still hate chickens today.

Yamhill County Oregon. 1975-76, I caught chickens. Junior High as well.
$25 a night, minimum wage was $1.60 so that was big money for about 3 hours of work.
Yeah, had dedicated clothes and shoes that got stored on the back porch. That smell does not wash out.
Since I was one of the youngest I was a "catcher," which meant on your knees in the crap grabbing the chickens by the leg, three per hand. You then handed them up to a "walker" who carried them to the truck and handed them to a "pivot man," the oldest and strongest kids, who threw them into the cages on the truck.
Good times!

Ever hypnotized a chicken? Easy and fun!
