Epoxy Primer Question?

Hello everyone! New to the site. Heard about the SPI products on several forums so I will have a bunch of questions.

I just recently bought an old 1967 Mustang. She is in pretty good shape but I do have some minor surface rust in the pans of the car and other areas. Currently I am gutting her insides out and removing as much of the old tar seam sealer as I can. Once that is gone I am planning on sand blasting the bad areas and just scuffing up the old paint so I can shoot the epoxy primer.

So here it goes with my questions.....
What primer & reducer should I use. Part numbers would be great. Again the primer for now is just going on the floor pans and trunk of the car. Outside will come later.

Is there a rust cleaning kit you guys use prior to the primer.

And also what seam sealer should I use? I do know that I will need both caulk & brushable seam sealer.

Any help would be great!

Thanks!
Robby

For epoxy, any of the SPI 6000 series would work. The red oxide (# 6630) is a good color match to Ford's original primer if that's important to you. For basic priming with the epoxy you really don't need reducer. I prefer unreduced epoxy on bare metal and only reduce it when I use it as a sealer over other primers or if I want to change its level of gloss. My rust cleaning kit consists of wire brush wheels on a drill or on a 4" angle grinder. For seam sealer, everyone will have their preferences. I've mostly used 3m but have heard good reviews on Fusor 800EZ.

Fusor 800 series seam sealer, is good stuff. I'm using it on a 66 Dodge Dart that I am redoing. You can paint over it in 10 mins, I usually wait half an hour, after 24 hours you must scuff it tho.
