How long do I have to top coat the epoxy if I reduce it and lay it as a sealer? 1 wet coat.

most people using spi wont wait more than a couple days, depends on temp as well...

Please wait longer than I do! It does need more than flash time. Especially if you are using cheap, thin solvent ridden base. Sadly, ask me how I know. Rushing this step, according to the perfect paint job, is a big no-no.

overnight is good IMO, I've painted over 30 minute old epoxy reduced as a sealer without any problems other than some loss of gloss. If you're looking for the best results out of the gun I'd let it set overnight, denib if needed the next day then shoot your color. JMO....

I usually wait 1-2 hours per the tech sheet. Longer if its alittle colder. I typically only spray diamont base coat.

I am going to start waiting over night from now on.

loss of gloss? would that rub out?

yes it will rub out fine. typical in coating over the epoxy too soon. i always wait overnight for paint. if i'm priming/poly and using epoxy as a sealer under that, i'll wait about and hr or 2.
