Epoxy priming a trailer

Hi all.

I'm going to be epoxy priming a boat trailer I have fairly soon. I've never painted with an HVLP before so this is practice before I do my Mustang later on.

The boat trailer is made of C-channel and angle iron, and I don't really know of a good way to paint the top and bottom, and get in the nooks and crannies, all in one session. Is it possible to do the bottom, 2 coats, let dry, then flip and do the top 2 coats? Or would that look awful? Or do you have any other suggestions?

Boat trailer is appx 9ft x 4.5 ft. I can't stand vertical but may be able to find a way to "hang" it horizontally upright...

Thanks

shoot one side then turn it up on the it's side.

When i epoxyed my car frame i shot one side, let it dry over night, flipped it and shot the other side. it looks great.

Thanks everyone! Paul, that's exactly what I think I'll do, and hang it like jcclark has his.

jcclark, my boat trailer looks nearly identical to that, but with the addition of two more crossmembers. Looks good!

It's similar to painting an automotive chassis. What I did with mine is alter two inexpensive engine stands so that the vertical leg stands at 90 degrees to the floor, then made up brackets to connect it to the stands. It can then be rotated easily as you go around. It can help to have a helper turn the chassis as you need it while you're painting. There's likely lots of other ways, but this has worked well for me.
