epoxy questions

I've searched here, but didn't find the answer, so...I'm thinking of sanding some fenders, trunk lid and hood down to bare metal, then shooting the spi epoxy I purchased over them, how long can I let these sit before I go to the next stage? Can I shoot and store awhile, or...? If I can store 'em for awhile, do I need to scuff them before storage?

Looks like it's going to be a long dragged out process for me and I need to plan accordingly...

also, can I shoot the epoxy on a urethane nose? What measures isbest for the rubber nose and rear bumper?

Car is a '80 Z28...

Thanks!

You can store in epoxy as long as you want!

Some e-coated fenders you get from GM or Ford may have had the e-coat on for 10-15 years.

Thanks!

How about the rubber...is epoxy OK on the nose and rear bumper?

Thanks!

yeah...done lots of searching here and found some more answers to my many questions...

I don't like being a pest...but, I gotta know...!

Barry, should the e-coat be removed before spraying the epoxy?

I have to say I'm loving this epoxy as I slog along through my resto. I've been stripping and epoxy-filler-epoxy as my first steps making sure to finish with two or three heavy coats.
Now when I come back around to things like the steering wheel I rehabbed months ago and left hanging in white epoxy, it's ready for finish sanding and paint. It helps break the process into steps that I can manage comfortably and lets me set stuff aside while I focus on other steps on other parts. It also lets you jump in anywhere and get some stuff going while your 'plan' comes together. :encouragement:
