Fiberglass repair help

Bought this used hood scoop for my car and need some advice on how to fix the chip in the edge of the fiberglass.

As long as this area is not near a mounting stud, I would just use Duraglass over an 80 grit feather edging. Fiberglass matt and resin would be Ideal, but that small of an area doesn't seem to justify it. Step 1 would be to sand off all the finish with 180 - 220, then a few coats of epoxy primer. Then do the filling and smoothing.
