Finishing out Cut-n-buff of UV clear ?'s

Hello,

Ok heres where I am at and wanted to get a couple of questions answered before I continue. So here is the background info.

Paint Base coat Dupont Chroma-base and SPI Universal Clear.

I had my car painted in March and after clear (four coats at 85° with 30 min flash times) it sat for a week then was wet sanded with DA 800 grit and then hand sanded with 1000 grit followed by 3000 trizact on the DA. From there on to white foam cut pad with 3M Ultracut compound going over small areas two times on the entire car. I had bought Meguiars Diomond cut II but he insisted on using the 3M that he liked. After that we washed the car and it sat a week just buffed. Next weekend washed car again and then used Meguiars Mirror Glaze #82 swirl free polish over the car. Now that was done on March 27th and then I brought the car home and it has been sitting in my garage since.

My plan is next to hand rub it with Meguiars #7 professional show car glaze then apply a few coats of Meguiars #26 Carnuba wax?

First off is this a sound plan, and second, how much longer do I need to wait before I apply the polish and wax? I don't want to start putting lights and bumpers on until after I get it polished and sealed.

Also considering Zaino Products now.

Heres a couple of pics...

Most say to wait 3 months to wax it, but a pure
carnuba wax can be done a lot sooner, I've heard it
lets it breathe, so you can wax it with that right now.
I have had paint jobs not waxed at all and still look great
3 years later so I wouldn't worry about the waxing to much.
But you can if you want to:D

P.S. that looks real good!!!

Just stay with the #7 for a few months, until it has seen some real hot summer days. I think waxing is overrated anyway, the paint does not get much protection from it. Mainly wax makes the car easier to wash, but if you are applying #7 on a regular basis it will do the same thing.

I'd stay with the #7 or 3m imperial hand glaze, and give it awhile before waxing, nice job , great looking second gen. camaro. Joe

Nice car. Nice work. I agree with above. You might want to polish it one more time after 90 days for the best results, give the car a good Dawn dish soap wash to strip off all the glaze then after the final polish wash again and apply your Zaino-the shine/gloss will be good for years and years.

I love the color. Is it GM Lemans Blue Metallic?

No it is GM 1971 Mulsanne Blue metallic.

Thanks to all for positive comments and suggestions! I will wash with dawn and hand rub the Meguiars #7 then so i can start mounting bumpers, spoilers, side markers, and emblems and all that stuff.
