Flat black epoxy

I was wondering if I could add flattening agent to SPI black epoxy to have it flat/semi gloss for hot rod look?

Wouldn't think so. Epoxy technology different than urethane. Adding a fast reducer will dull it out. Barry can advise.
 
Its just when I have a bare steel car I'd like to use epoxy over it. Customer wants it flat/semi gloss black so I'd epoxy it and then later on when he's ready for paint I can just work with what's already on the car.
 
The first coat of epoxy should go on the metal unreduced, then after a good flash long flash time, you can use coats of reduced epoxy to reduce the gloss to an acceptable level like RodMan says.
