Ford offering Mustang Body

Saw this on the news and is making its round through the forums.

Dynacorn will be building the bodies just as they do the 67-70 bodies. The way they word it in all the articles it is as if ford is selling them? IDK.

"comes out of the crate nearly ready for paint and " --I chuckled a bit at that line.

What I find more interesting is they (dynacorn) are in talks with FORD to do the original Bronco next. I'm sure they will release it after I finish up the 68 in the shop! Figures.

Yes I read the article as well and they definitely made it sound as though Ford was the one offering this "body in white" however it will be Dynacorn that produces them. Of course Ford had to sell them licensing privilege in order to use their name and I am sure gets a cut off each one sold.
The car in the pictures shows the optional hood and front fenders installed but they do not come with the car at the $15k price and shipping is $$$$.

My research into the matter for a 67 Fastback found that many guys were having fitment trouble when trying to use OEM fenders, hoods, etc. on the Dynacorn bodies. I would guess that if you purchased the remainder of body parts through them fitment shouldn't be a problem.

When you think about having a shell completely rust free (hopefully dent free as well) and treated with corrosion protection throughout to start a project with the price really isn't that bad.
On the other hand, if your are like me, having the $15k to start is tough to come up with. I have to take these restoration projects a chunk of change at a time. LOL

I would bet that you can figure about 50-100+ hours just to get the body ready for paint. Those won't be any better than the Brookville Roadsters and all the 'Glass bodies out there. They are all mass produced to be sold unassembled. That means it is stamped and assembled, and that is it. It is not assembled for fit there, so I would not expect a lot.

I get a kick how they painted that shell satin silver for the advertisement-an appearance of perfection in bare metal. Makes me wonder how rough they are.
