Im half way thru blocking my 2k primer and I found a ding that I had never noticed before, if this is not what i should do please tell me. im going to sand down to bare metal around the ding, spot epoxy it. Use some glaze putty then spot 2k the area and block again. I dont think theres anything else I need to do but thats why im asking, thanks!

I got the whole vehicle blocked and my body work and patch panels turned out very well. I only found that one ding that I can feel, but have a few small spots that went through to bare metal or filler. I feel like I have a good feel or a sensitive hand for this, in the few spots that went thru I absoulely can not feel a wave or anything. This is a daily driver but of course that doesnt mean I want it to look like crap.... Would you guys trust in your self that if you cannont feel any wave to call it ok and hit the whole thing with a sealer coat of epoxy and get ready for color?? it is going to be black which I hear shows everything (scary)....

You can put your glazing putty directly on the 2K, just let it cure real well before re-priming. Epoxy beforehand will not add anything to the process except to waste time.

As for the rest, it's too hard to tell without being there. You'll have to use your best judgement. If the metal areas are good sized and not just edges, I would say that there is likely a wave that will be seen even if not felt.

well my dent sanded thru to metal so ill need epoxy there... Since im ready to put my epoxy sealer on the whole vehicle, would it be dumb to just spray the vehicle with my sealer, then put some small glazing putty on, then maybe a spot 2k?

You are progressing rapidly on this car and with only minor problems for an admitted newby, and I realize that you think your hand can feel everything, but are you using a guide coat?

You better take car of the bodywork problems before sealer. Pretend the sealer is your first coat of base.

Yea ive been using the crap out of the 3m dry guide coat. Thanks, thats what ill do, i just fixed the ding, I pulled it out of the "pant booth" into the driveway to blow the dust off and clean and I noticed a few small pinholes that i need to fill in also. The few metal spots are smaller than a quarter and not on any edges, its hard to explain but where the metal shows thru its almost featherd in with the primer so its very smooth. This is my second project, first was just at patch in a quarter and i really learned a lot it was a huge pain the a$$ as a first project but it turned out amazing. Im a bit of an over achiever and a perfectionist, I see something that noone would ever notice other than one of you guys ha. This one I decided to strip my whole daily driver and fix the rust before it got worse. Of course I got carried away and decided to strip the floor and epoxy then bed liner the tub and ended up doing a lot more than i wanted, but isnt that how every project goes:)

Thanks, yes i cleared the area down to metal, spot epoxied, glaze putty, then a spot 2k. turned out good.

When you feel your panels feel from every angle and direction possible. You can feel something one way but not the other.
