Galvanized metal and Epoxy

TransAm_Stan

I have some NOS galvanized sheet metal that I will need to shoot the inside of the panels with epoxy primer before I weld them in. Then I will be priming the exterior after all sheet metal work is completed. Yes I will also be using weld thru primer on the seams.

Is there any specific instructions to adhere to when applying epoxy on these panels? I did not see anything in the tech sheets.

Thanks in advance.

Treat it just like a chrome bumper.

Hand sand with 180, do not use a DA, clean with the 700, let set an hour and shoot two wet coats of epoxy with NO reducer mixed in, just activated.

Its forever!

Thanks for the quick reply & info Barry.

Its forever, eh?

Pretty strong statement! LOL :)

Yea, kinda stout for sure and really no such thing.

BUT I still see a lead sled (50) Linc I did about 16 years ago and that front bumper is still all shinny yellow, with no chips.
