Glass cleaner mixed with 700 waterbourne? Can anyone share more info,

Fastback

So I already know I am going to have masking residue when I unmask my stripes, the residue will be on my sanded UV clear (That the stripes sit on), and I dont want to spray my next coats of clear over those shadows/residue areas.
I can tell the 700 alone will not remove it and I have read on here about using some glass cleaner mixed with the 700 but I want to know if thats a good idea to remove my mask residue or if I am making a mistake?

Also, whats a good ratio if this is the way to go?

I don't have a definitive answer, but I do know I would not use any window cleaner that has ammonia in it.

IF it were my project I would use some naptha and remove the adhesive, then go over it with the waterborne.

i use rubbing alcohol to clean up with after pulling tape. but if you do this, make sure the last coats you have applied has set up. i usually test some place that won't be noticed to make sure. i haven't had any issues so far doing it this way. I have even used alcohol as a final wash if i'm out of water borne.

Fortunately the tape marks will be on clear coat, I could use reducer, but I cant get close to the stripes or they will lift, hence the question.

Alcohol may be an option if it does not mess up the Metalux polyester base that I used for the stripes.

Would the solvent based wax and grease remover lift his stripes? I it works very well for.adhesive residue. Id give it a try before reducer.

Well, I don't have any of that and the car gets more clear today once the stripes are sprayed.

I could swear I saw a few threads on here that had info about zepp mixed with 700 and water?

I wish I'd seen this thread sooner. Solvent base w&g remover is actually gentler on basecoat than the waterborne, too bad you don't have any. It's a useful product to have in the arsenal, especially for stuff like road tar and of course, adhesive residue.

I would not mix anything with the 700.!!!!!!!!!!!

For base, like said go with the 710 or mineral spirits but test a spot first as there are a lot of different grades and you don't want a heavy slow dry one, or some glass cleaners are gentle enough to use.

Something i found out about 700 last week. Excellent for removing latex paint overspray!!
