Help with DBU basecoat.

K

Kenne

I have to do repairs to the 1+yr old paint.
my old shop supplier is gone. Is DRR still avail,
or is their an alternative?

also, must i use the same exact componenets used during the first spray as for repairs.
clears reducers, hardeners etc?

To replace the drr just use either 0-voc reducer or regular (depending on your area law) and to a mixed quart of the base, add 1 oz of any clear-coat activator.

Also to answer your question, you can use anything that will match, does not need to be exact same stuff.

i still have the original base.
my local VOC is 3.5 or less.
and you're saying mix 'clear coat' activator to the base?
my bro is in Woodstock GA :)

also, after spraying clear and letting dry, what you polish it with?

Some use regular urethane reducer with the shot of clearcoat activator and get good results but you can still buy DRR reducer.

do you have a source for the DRR?
iv called so many dist on the PPG site with no luck :(

Call a PPG rep, you can get the rep for your area off the PPG site. Chances are there is nobody using DBU in your area but I know in other parts of the country it's still very common-a rep can get it ordered for you.
