How long can you let 1:1:1 epoxy sealer induce?

once its mixed the pigments will settle out but as long as you mix it up really well and run it through a strainer into your gun then its fine. i have shot epoxy that has sat here in a cup for days

Thanks Jim, did you catch were I mixed this as a sealer? I was concerned because I already added reducer which supposedly way shortens the cure time, so it's logical the pot life is also affected.

This thread http://www.spiuserforum.com/forum/spi-product-specific-discussions/sealers/3886-sealer seems to say overnight is good, but I'm going to be more like 20 hours if I don't shoot it now. If I shoot it now, I'll be up really late seam sealing and top coating.

Store it in a cold place like your refrigerator.

That's a big No No according to Barry, can't recall the reason why he advices against it though. Hopefully he will chime in.

I am not even sure about adding the 1 part solvent while its inducing. You want the two parts to induce as long as possible, Just in case you did mix all three at the same time.

yes its fine that you reduced it. the reducer just thins it out and the pigments wont stay in suspension. they settle out so as long as its all stirred up good then its fine to shoot. i dont think you would even need to put epoxy in the refer. if epoxy is reduced then you usually have a spray window numbering in the days...even in the summer. basically, if its not too thick to shoot then your good to go.

If I remember right Barry mentioned there was a chance of something going wrong because of alcohol? in the epoxy. I was putting mixed epoxy in the shop fridge to slow it down but stopped after Barry warned against it. I didn't have any problems though.
