How long to wait after primer to set on saw horses?

Hello all.

I am getting ready to apply SPI epoxy primer to a 3/4 tub. Right now it is on saw horses. After priming the topside I want to flip the body so that I can prime the underside; placing the primed topside on the wooden saw horses.

1. How long should I let the primer cure before flipping?

2. How should I protect the fresh primer from the saw horse? Would a towel with paper on top be sufficient?

Thanks!

A couple days in the sun and you should be ok. I’m assuming this is not your final finish. You could call the tech line also.

For small parts like a hood or maybe a door, I flip them the very next day. For an entire body like that with more mass, I'd be inclined to go the way of the Don and let it get some rays for a day or two.
