How much time before I spray primer over the epoxy?

Sprayed 2 rocker panels that were stripped to bare metal and 180'd, than cleaned with SPI Water Based grease n wax. Sat at least an hour, than sprayed two coats of black epoxy mixed 1:1, ten minutes apart. finished spraying at 7pm, and it was about 67 degress in the booth. Left heat on all night about same temp. How long should I safely wait to spray my 3 coats of SPI Primer over the top of the epoxy? I know metal temp is generally 10-15 degrees cooler than air temp, so I want to make sure I give it enough time to dry properly, before spraying my primer. I know waiting longer is better, but i also have to keep this project rolling along, as I am on a time schedule, somewhat.

I wait a minimum 24 hrs. I believe I got that figure straight from barry

Well a non-contact thermometer is a great thing to have in these case, 67° is pretty close to the minimum. If the metal temp is under 65°, you need to heat it up for a while before recoating. This becomes more important the more coats of epoxy are sprayed.

What kind of heat do you use? What type of heat source is best? I may have to do this at some point soon.

Thanks...Al

I have a regular house furnace hanging from my ceiling. I fire her up the night before any epoxy and let it run til I am ready to tack off, shut it down, spray, wait a few hours for the good dry surface then kick it back on.
