How much to get?

Soon I will be stripping a 92 Ford Bronco (body only not the top/topper) Im going to do 2 patch panels then 2 coats of epoxy, final bodywork/light filler, high build primer, then seal it again with the epoxy then base and clear. Will a gallon of epoxy be enough for 3 coats? its not a relatively small or big vehicle, the topper takes up a lot of area that will not be painted...is there a good method to figuring how much to order. I know thats its better to have extra for repairs/touchups.. Thanks!

By one gallon, I think you mean one gallon of epoxy and one gallon of activator, which makes 2 sprayable gallons? I don't think that will cover it. I'm working on a chevrolet truck now and my first gallon covered (two wet coats) the entire exterior of the cab, inside and outside of both fenders, inside and outside of the hood, inside and exterior of both doors, and the core support, with about one sprayable quart to spare.

If you are using urethane primer as a surfacer, 2 sprayable gallons of epoxy should be enough for the job.

Well i guess that brings out another question, I forgot I still have 7/8 of a gallon of Eastwoods 2k primer. I know the SPI epoxy is universal but would there be any interferance/problems with using up the Eastwood 2k over the SPI? Im going to use a dupont paint and SPI clear. I emailed SPI and the guy told me that 2 quarts epoxy + 2 quarts activator should be plenty for 2 solid coats. Doing some research a 3rd coat would not be needed, as I am doing a black paint which covers well.

I don't know anything about Eastwood's primers. No doubt they are relabeled, but who knows what they are. The generic advice is that it should work, but leave lots of flash time between products. If you put down 2 coats of epoxy, it's best to spray the urethane primer the next morning. That goes for any urethane primer, imo.
