initial gun settings

I have purchased the summit lvlp 1.4 spray gun as per Bob H.'s suggestion. Honestly I am clueless as to how one of these works and the gun came with about zero for instructions. I am pretty much clueless as to what the different knobs actually do and was wondering if anyone could give me a heads up on where to start with settings on this thing. I am planning hopefully to lay down some epoxy next week sometime if the Kansas weather will give me a break....

My guns all have the top knob as spray width, the knob below it is fluid flow. Put a mini regulator at the air inlet, then read the thread How to set up your paint gun, or go to http://www.southernpolyurethanes.com/adjusting your gun.htm and read up. After that, ask some questions about what's not clear. Maybe post a link to the gun you have so we can be of more help.

Okay. Have read and its clearing up a bit. Will try and get a link posted and maybe just play with it. Have an old junk fender that may come in handy I suppose

I believe I've figured it out a bit. The top knob adjusts the shape of the spray. The middle knob adjusts the amount of liquid going thru and the bottom knob, which is where my question lies says its for air inlet, I'd assumed that the regulator took care of that??

the bottom knob where the air inlet is should be turned wide open. then adjust airflow with the regulator on the air hose at the gun
