My 911 restoration

W

I had this on the old forum and am bringing it back to life here. Last winter I stripped the car to bare metal, added fiberglass front fenders and bumpers. Entire car was coated with SPI epoxy and then 2k. Knowing that I would not have time in the summer I then covered it in the black epoxy for storage. Now that the mornings are turning a little cooler I am getting the itch to start back at it.

More to come

Great, I'll be watching for updates.
A guy has a 1978 924 for sale here but I do not know much about these cars. He's asking $500 and it needs restoration.

Their are many resources for new panels and parts. They can become a money pit quick. I could never sell mine for what I have in it but that is not really unusual. Let me know if you go for it and I can pm you some good links

My clear showed up today, my clear showed up today I yelled as I ran around the shop in joy. Now to chose who's base I am getting

I am going to post my progress here as I move forward. I am currently building my temporary booth. It will be 18X20 with 8' high ceiling. 2X4 construction covered inside with plastic. For ventilation my plan was either 1 or 2 furnace fans on the intake side with good quality filters. I was going to put the fans on a duct across the entire top of the end wall (18'X24") and exhaust out the bottom on the other end with cheaper glass filters. (again 18'X24")

I am not sure where I saw it but remember someone saying to use roofing tar paper for the floor and just tape the seams. Anyone ever do this?

Pictures can be found here along with the restoration process from the start http://community.webshots.com/user/bnlhenry?vhost=community

I'll be updating now on a regular basis as I want this finished in the next few weeks. WISH me Luck!!

Wow June 25th I posted that I want this done. Ha Ha. 3 more coats of UV clear put on yesterday, flowed out beautifully. Some trash that I think came from my fan filters. Putting new ones in before spraying next time. I will be adding pictures soon.
