I am not sure whether this is the right section or not but I need some help from the pros.... How do I get these Quarter glass window corners to hold down tight to the surface of the body??? they seem to stick out on every one I have done.... I have tried 3m moulding tape without much luck.... I have thought about windshield urethane???? thanks!

I think you have the right idea with some type of adhesive. I think it definately need to be flexible. Some type of urethane But not silicone.

If you can get the surfaces clean I bet windshield urethane would be your best bet, if you can set it in the sun for awhile to make the moulding flexible that would help, tape it down overnight. Windshield urethane can be messy if you apply too much though. People run into this often when roping/propping glass mouldings then having them take a distorted shape during a booth bake cycle but once the masking is removed you can usually rebake it and the mouldings relax to normal. Did you have the glass out or were they masked?

No Bob the Windows have been out of the car.... it's weird because they come out with very little force and and when I put them back in they seem to do this... once the car is finished, final buffed, etc I will final install them, tape them down, and try to put some urethane back there....

We used to heat those corners up and bend them in for them to sit right and be good enough, but that was a long time ago. Windshield urethane might work, but it's bound to be messy. I would probably use a combination of heat to bend them in, followed by a good cleaning of the inside with waterborne, followed by a 3M adpro wipe #6396, then a carefully cut triangle of gray double back tape. if you keep the tape away from the edges of the molding, it will not be conspicuous.

Also, don't overtighten the nuts when you bolt it in. Use 1/4 butyl.

I agree with Crash, if they weren't bulging before removal, then overtightening upon reinstallion is the culprit.
