Ooops a hair in my first coat of SPI Silver

I took a pair of tweezers and got it out and then sprayed another coat just in that spot but it looks bad.
My plan is to wait 30 minutes or so (90 degrees in booth) and then lightly sand the spot with 2000 grit then shoot my second coat of silver. Does this sound like the right thing to do?

Sounds like your going in right direction but just maybe use soft block and not finger sand area which might leave a dig mark which you may see after clear goes on. Also 2000 might not be coarse enough to level defect completely flat. Probulay will take aleast two more coats of base to cover sanded base area. Do you have a sun light? They work great to check for coverage over this type of sanded area repair. any other questions just ask. Joe

You are right the 2000 wasn't enough so I went with 1200 but I only sanded to remove the high spots and I think maybe I should have gone a little further.
I put the second coat on and let it flash for 10 minutes and then put a little heavier coat just in the problem area. I'll wait another 30 minutes or so and see what it looks like.
What a bummer when the rest of the tailgate looks fantastic.

SPI Silver? Did I miss something? Would love to see it.
