My paint booth is 16/32/12 High and I need to know how big or how much CFM fan do I need for intake air and how big of exhaust fan will I need.

24 turban at least. i like all the intake i can get. slows down the flow but still high exchange.

you mean as many openings/filters as possible on the intake side right? I was thinking the same for my temp booth. 12wx15lx8h with one or two 24" high flow fans at about waist high on one end, several filters at the opposite end from about waist high to 6' feet. maybe 4-6ft wide.

rule of thumb as per osha for a crossflow booth: end wall width (in feet)x height (in feet)x100 = cfm needed for airflow ( airflow speed of 1.12 mph)

16x12x100= 19200 cfm That much is will require some serious horsepower.
Takes a lot of hp to move a lot of air, box fans and such won't do it as they are not very efficient working against static pressure.
Probably 2 5hp centrifugal fans for the intake and at least one 7.5hp 30" + axial flow for the exhaust.

My homemade booth is going to have 2 3hp 20x20 centrifugal fans for the inlet and a 5hp 32" axial fan for the exhaust. I am shooting for an air flow of 11000 cfm.

Go for as much inlet and exhaust filter surface as you can arrange, never too much. Use as much airflow as you can get where the airspeed is less than 1.5mph.

my booth is 16x24x11 . my 18 in is sufficient but i plan to speed it up a little . be careful , too much fan will create a vortex.

Ran out of battery . You will need a 24 dayton or larger . My 18 is just barely efficient. A larger pulley helps. My mixing bench is my filter bank. New doors are solid intake except for 2 ft at bottom. when i built it i was in a hurry and put filters across the top of the door. it worked ok but the added filters will slow down the flow a little.. my old booth had a 48 turbin in it. paint booth.jpg
