Im working on a 03 cobra rear bumper. These are notorious for having the “cobra bump”. To fix mine i used panel bond and glued a reinforcement panel on the backside to flatten it out. Its not 100% perfect but is very close. The low spots are about 1/32”.

Moving forward i was thinking of shooting a couple coats of epoxy and then using a flexible filler to glaze the area.

Would this be the best course of action? What flexible filler/glaze do you guys recommend?

If it's truly only 1/32 I would probably try to fill it with epoxy primer. Would be stable and SPI epoxy stays flexible permanently. If you wanted to use a flexible filler Polyvance flex filler is a good one. They also make something called Putty Flex which may be more appropriate in this case. It is a flexible 2 part glaze. Apply over your epoxy primer.

Impressive repair, well done. With regards to what SPI member El Toro stated, Upol makes great products. I use Upol with confidence.

The TDS isn't very clear on substrate prep. In your experience can flex filler be applied over fresh epoxy primer without sanding?
