Preserving bare metal for a week or two?

I am going to epoxy prime my four fenders and have sanded down my fenders to bare metal.
What is the best way to keep the metal from rusting for the next week or two?
Wash with Dawn and dry thoroughly?
Keep inside the house?
Any tips? I've been told I can't spray primer, or anything else on it before the spi epoxy primer.....then what should I do?
Thanks!!

You should sand the part, wipe it down with #700, and shoot it all in the same day. If your time is limited, just do one or two at a time. The bare metal you have now just needs to stay inside, and when it is time to shoot it, sand it again, wipe it down with #700, and shoot it.

Sand it with a red scotchbrite to scuff it? All four fenders have been taken down to bare metal. The painter won't get to them till next week:(
I have them up off the floor in my garage. Or should I put them on my bedroom floor? (Wife would love that)

after my cab was blasted I had them put a wash primer on as I had to get it home (2 hours) and be a few months before I got to priming. Easy enough to take off & clean.

If you keep them clean and dry they are not going to rust enough to not be able to be scotch brited off before the epoxy goes on.

Cool, thanks! We are planning on epoxying the fenders, hood, sunroof and decklid in one day inside and out. I've DA with 80 grit and am going to wipe them all down with the spi cleaner and we'll let them thouroughly dry then spray it on!!
