Which prococess do you guys prefer?
Sandblast, epoxy, featherfill G2, reapply epoxy, 2 good coats sand with 600 and then basecoat....or.....same sequence except after featherfill g2, epoxy 1 medium coat, wait 24hrs, apply turbo primer, block sand and then reapply epoxy 1 or 2 medium coats, wait 24hrs, sand with 600 and then base coat activated and clear.....I guess the question is, do I need a urethane 2k if my polyester g2 came out ok?...seems to be just wasting product? or do I get extra impact resistance as a result of 2k urethane?

I have never used used feather fill only Slick Sand or Turbo. This is how I do it if I want it straight: two coats of Slick Sand block with 80, two more coats of Slick Sand block with 180, two coats of epoxy block with 320, two more coats of reduced epoxy wet sand with 600.

Thanks Rusy and Bob, so there is really no need for a 2k urethane? Maybe I should compare the slick sand to the feather fill g2, which one is better? It sounds like epoxy, poly-prime of some sort, and then more epoxy and then base/clear.

IMO the Slick sand sands a little easier than G2 and builds a little more, they are both a good product though, G2 offers some color choices. Turbo sands easier than epoxy and dry time to sand is quicker-there are advantages there. It's really personal preference but overall durability of the job is better with epoxy IMO and that's the way I do it on anything I'm looking for the best long term results. There's also Evercoat's 4:1 poly primer that offers even better sanding than Slick Sand and G2 and a higher build-my Son uses this stuff almost daily and now PPG has put their own version in their product line- I bet just relabeled Evercoat but can't confirm.

Thanks Bob, is the 4:1 poly primer capable of going over epoxy? I know it mentions to apply to bare steel, whereas the other Evercoat poly-primers recommend an epoxy below them. It seems that the 2k urethane step can be skipped, and just apply epoxy, a poly-spray of some configuration, a few sessions of block sanding, followed by a few coats of epoxy and blocking and then top coating.
