Question on epoxy thickness

Just curious as to how thick a wet coat of epoxy is, in mils.
I sprayed a door today with a light coat then a medium coat and it only measured 2+ mils, which seems light to me, but it did cover well on the first pass.
does anyone have an idea?
Thanks.

Sounds about right, SPI epoxy is not a build primer, so it will have about the same mil as a medium solids clear. If you give it plenty of flash time between coats you can put on 3 or 4 coats for more build. But ideally just 2 light coats for coverage, then use a 2K build primer.

Epoxy is not a high build product. It can be manipulated to build a bit more but don't expect it to build like a polyester or 2K primer.

SPI Epoxy is around 1 mil per normal medium coat.
2K urethane - 1.5-2.0ish mils per coat.
Polyester Primer- 2.0-3.0 mils per coat.
