Rebasing to clear.

I've been lurking here for a couple years, Have been restomoding a 53 Belair, that I owned 35 years ago. Bought it back but was not in the condition that I sold it.
That's when my project started. This site has been the best thing that has helped thru the ups and downs. I have the doors painted and cleared (UC) on the inside.
The outside skin has 2 coats of base. (Motobase Metallic) If i scuff with Grey Scotts-brite pads, will that be good to rebase and clear.
I will use the same on the jamb area to clear and blend, when I paint the quarters. I plan on using

a blender for the clear in the jambs.

I do it all the time, just make sure you scuff it thoroughly,
leaving no shiny spots.
