Reducing 2K

Hey guys..have a question about reducing regular build 2K. I'm starting my blocking and with my super cheapo primer gun (TP tools, 1.8 tip), the 2K is spraying pretty dry. Gun doesn't have alot of fine adjustments, so wanted to reduce the primer a bit to get it to flow better. I don't have any SPI reducer, and was hoping to not have to wait to order any. All I have around right now is some Omni reducer, and wanted to make sure it would be ok to use for this. I'm assuming a 4:1:1 would be adequate, or is that too much of a reduction? Thanks for any advice here.

NO !!!! open the gun wide open . solvents are not your friend and you dont reduce to make up for bad spraying techniques.

SPI 2K urethane primers are pretty thick and contain fast flashing solvents. I would call Barry and ask him about what you can do to get it to work for you. His number is listed as the "Tech Line" here:

Whatever you do, don't buy Omni reducer. If you are dead set on not waiting for SPI 885, get some PPG DT885 instead.
