Removing compound splatter

I have compound splatter all over my car now that it's finally all buffed out. I try to keep ahead of it and wipe it down right after but that doesn't always happen like planned. Most all of it is on the top surfaces..hood, roof, trunk, as those were the first surfaces that got buffed and then neglected. And it's not so much compound splatter as it is the pad lubricant that flies out with compound or polish residue and then dries into these tiny, hard little spots. I've tried removing them with detailer and microfiber but that doesn't want to touch it.

What are you guys using to clean the car once it's done to remove splatter?

My side panels are good because I always wiped them down after every buffing session.

I use Chemical Guys products for buffing.

Cleaning up chem guys is a breeze compared to the 3m perfect it system. I use a old cotton sheet on adjacent panels .

I use a microfiber and warm soapy water.

3M makes a spray on detail cleaner that works pretty good.
The 3M stuff is hard to get off once it dries, I've been covering
the entire car with a car cover and pulling it back
while I do a single panel.
The Meguiars compounds seem to rinse off the easiest
with just a water hose.

I tried some microfiber and dishsoap, got a lot of it, but I can still see the fine little black specks. I am considering just buzzing over the panels again real quick with the polishing pad and compound to remove it.

I'd bet if you just used a clean finishing pad with just a spritz of pad lube it'd come off pretty quick

soap and water then clay bar. i just finish my tailgate today. quick rinse and it was ready for wax .

If you're buffing the clear after it's cured up decent the compound won't stick as much, water and dawn in a spray bottle and a rag and a detailing brush for the crevices gets the job done for me.

I have the most problem with spatter on the existing paint, not the new.
that's where it really sticks.

Getting back to this a little late as I've been out of the country, but like JC said, my clear is plenty cured now....been sitting on the car for over a year.

A finishing pad didn't do real great so I'll pick up a fresh clay bar to try. Dish soap removed a lot of it.

if your using cg and getting a mess your using too much and not cleaning the pad often enough. never wait for it to dry out before cleaning and reloading.
