I can see some sanding scratches on a door I painted a little over a year ago so I’d like sand them out and buff the entire door again. I’m believe they are 1000 grit scratches that have shown up as the clear continued to cure and shrink because they are straight lines and I used a DA sander for all grits after that.
My question is what grit should I use get those scratches out? I was thinking of starting with 2000 wet by hand until they’re gone then switch to the the DA for the higher grits but would appreciate other’s opinions.
In case it helps, this was my original routine I did last year:
-2 coats SPI black base, then 4 coats of Euro 5000 the next day
-I believe I waited a week before I started cut and buff, started with 1000 wet, 1500 Eagle film dry, 2500 buflex wet, 3D ACA 500 with 3M wool pad, quick pass using ACA 520 with the wool pad, then the 520 with Chemical Guys white foam and then black foam.
