It appears to shiny from cleaning with a wire brush or wheel. I would blast with fine crushed glass to insure adhesion of the epoxy.I would still blast it with something fine to get down in those craters, fine glass at lower pressure maybe
Should be fine. It’s good filler. Apply it over epoxy. And what about what is best for filling the fine rust pits? Rage Ultra is what I have.
It also disguises the rust under it, instead of removing it. When you wet it with a rust remover it will turn black again.I've had delamination issues with wire-wheel prepped surfaces. I will never prime over such a surface, instead sanding with 80 before coating. I don't know the reason, but I believe the wire polishes the surface and might make it a bit "slippery." Better to have a sharp scratch, imo.
I’ve seen this too. The phosphate will polish up, (with a wire wheel), to look just like metal. When you pick at it with a scribe, more than likely you’ll find brown rust.It also disguises the rust under it, instead of removing it. When you wet it with a rust remover it will turn black again.
