Is it necessary to shake clear coat that has been sitting for some time? What about activators?....One thing I noticed while shaking a few gallons of different manufacturer's clears, some are like shaking a container of oil and some are like shaking a container of water...some are like syrup others like water....does this reveal any quality differences in these products??

You'll notice differences in viscosity related to mix ratios and solids content. I don't think you can guage quality by viscosity.

Yeah, I bet pretty much every clear out there now says high solids. You'll notice differences in activator viscosity as well. From what I've noticed is many of the high speed clears and clears with a 4:1 mix ratio lack long term durability.
