Slikbase and SPI

I'm going to seal the car SPI epoxy before i basecoat it. I'm using Slikbase from the Coating Store. Their TDS says to only use the primers and sealers they sell. Does anyone have any experience with Slikbase and know if i will have compatibility issues?

You won’t have compatibility issues, but you will have a superior sealer on there.

Manufacturers only say that to sell more products. All Manufacturers say something similar. You can use SPI epoxy or urethane primers/sealers with no issues.

"SlickBase is recommended over properly prepared UreChem primer and cured OEM automotive finishes. Use over other brands' primers or existing finishes of unknown quality can result in failure."

They are covering themselves against failure caused by mixing products that they have no knowledge about, as well as sell more of their products, as all businesses would. You will have no issues using over or under SPI primers and clears as long as you follow the cure / flash times of each product. When in doubt, let the base flash longer then their instructions.
