Small bare metal area

I sprayed 3 coats black epoxy on my decklid let dry @ 70 degrees 3 days then applied 3 coats gray reg 2k.After blocking 150 dry i have the edge of the decklid showing bare metal about 1/4 inch wide in one area. can i continue with 2k or do i have to hit the bm areas with epoxy.?

The 2k primer I have been using says that it can be applied to sanded steel. I would just spray some more 2k.

You can just hit the small bare metal areas with 2K if you are doing insurance/ collision work but, if you are doing a restoration I would hit it with epoxy for best corrosion and adhesion protection

If it's something you care about, take the time to put a coat of epoxy on it. You can mix a tiny bit with equal parts of primer, activator, and reducer, (1:1:1), put a thin coat over the bare area, and it will be ready to prime with 2K in a half hour.

What reducer do you use with SPI epoxy? Urethane?
