Hello all, SPI and this forum were such a help with my last build that I would love to use the line again. This time with a single stage paint.
The last build was aluminum body land rover defender.
Sand blast
wash with degreaser
SPI water base prep
SPI epoxy primer (black)
SPI high build sandable primer
SPI black base coat
SPI Euro clear
here is a picture for fun.

The current build is a 1976 FJ40 land cruiser. I wish to use the same system but need some help because I'm planning single stage factory color. I plan to use SPI epoxy on the frame and engine compartment.

What products can I use on the paint job?
Sealer (and what color)
Primer
sealer (and color)
Top coat in single stage?
Thank you in advance. This is not a show truck but will be nice due to not having any rust to speak of on the frame. Picture and color code added for reference.

Topcoating over SPI products with other brands of paint is no issue whatsoever and done by all of us many many times. Usually more often than not as SPI only has a few colors. Properly applied and cured products don't care what goes over them. Paint Manufacturers say that so that they can maximize their sales and profits by you using all their products throughout.

Thanks for all the advice. I’m having trouble getting the color that I like for this truck using Motocryl.
PPG. Has the color I like in the OMNI LV line.
Is this a significant downgrade to the Motocryl single stage?

PPG number 854 sky blue

Omni is even worse than Omni+. Won't last more than 5 or 6 years before it fades. And doesn't look as good color wise fresh out of the gun as better brands.
The number you gave doesn't sound like a PPG number. PPG numbers are minimum 4 digits.
What is the OEM paint code for this color?

Making good progress, looking good. I've noticed a trend here on SPI, it seems like all the really good paint jobs are being sprayed in dirty conditions. Impressive really.
