spi turbo primer problems

hello, i'm having problems with my turbo primer. i'm at the end of my 3rd gallon and the last 3 times i've used it i've got bubbles in my first coat. looks like sovent pop now, i have this problem over sanded turbo prim, filler, and bare metal spots. i have good clean dry air and temps around 65. i have used other 2k primers and never had this happin. the first 2 1/2 gallons of turbo prim i used worked perfect, so i don't know whats going on here. i'm using an old school gun and allso a saita gravity gun. i'm wondering if maybe i'm not using enough air press and getting it on to heavy, it seems to be kinda touchy stuff.

Sounds like activator is going bad, if you were to-wards the end of the activator and it had set a while (less then say 10-30%) it will start getting weak.

The primer is fine, almost 99% sure its the activator. Next step with the activator is the primer will lay fine and just never dry.

'im not sure how long the the activator has opened, i probably opened it a month or so ago and mixed small quanitys out of this gallon. it looks like its getting worse near the end, i'm doing a bunch of small parts. if i remember right it did it with the 2nd or 3rd mix out of the can.could have been 2-3 week for first being opened. i shot a second coat over blocked turbo prime and just as soon as the primer hit the blocked turbo prime it got thousands of bubbles in it. looked like someone through sand on it. then 95 % of them went away. i let it flash and put a second coat on, it went on fine . now 3weeks later the same thing only the sand look didnt go away. i washed it off with reducer and tried it again, same thing.

Don't use the activator, sometimes an activator will be fine for a long time once opened but the less activator in the can and more air that displaced the activator, the odds get bad fast, this is especially true with the Turbo activator because of the way it is set up to kick the primer.

Usually, when an activator is opened after setting and it does what it did to you and more air get to what is left in the can, as soon as the next day or two it can become totally UN-reactive and just never dry.

good reason to fill an opened can with Bloxygen or argon if you got it
