Spot Weld Dent Puller

So I have a copper pin version, with the slide hammer. It has done me ok.

Lately I've been seeing this which seems like it is made for finer stuff and has more attachments. Wonder if there would be much to gain by switching to this?

I think used in the right circumstances, it's a useful tool. Definitely not a fix all dent repair tool though.

I don't think a hammer and dolly will ever be replaced as the go to tools for over all bodywork.

It's main drawback is that it's Chinesium. If something fails, going to be hard to find replacement parts for it. Then it will be scrap. And it's priced so cheap compared to other models like Dent Fix, Killer Tools, Lenco, that corners have to be cut somewhere on that machine. Like really cheap. Quality one is $1200-$1500.
I would say get a decent quality stud gun like a Motorguard or H&S. It would be all you need. Main selling point of those machines is speed, and that they don't use studs, which sounds good in theory but in practice not as good. Most of the shops I've worked in that had one, it sat in the corner gathering dust as most guys preferred using studs. Wiggle wire is nice but you can get wiggle wire for the stud guns as well.

It's really hard to beat the versatility of studs. You can make a single light pull with one, or group them together to make a heavy pull. Really all you need.

Lots of VEVOR tools coming out lately...... I am personally not a fan of re-branded tools. Might be great for a couple time use...

The H&S stud gun works fine. I bought what they called a "starter kit" that came with the gun, slide hammer and a good-sized container of studs.
Don't remember what it cost but do recall it being reasonable. Ditto Chris on them being very versatile. Couple of rare occasions I needed a wider pull I Tig tacked a piece of sheet metal. But if you have some frame machine clamps the studs can be put on in a row like Chris mentioned.
Tons of super cheap tools, welding machines and plasma cutters all over the internet that I am very leery of quality and service. Could work ok, could be throwing money away. You can kind of tell when you see a particular machine repeatedly on YouTube it is like they send them to various YouTubers and in return they produce a favorable video. Mostly the same: unbox, set up and bullshit tests. Oh yea, works great.... never see after they were worked, burned out and not repairable, junk.

I have the Uni 5500 from H&S. Got it used and it works fine.
It is made in China also.

First off I'm not a fan of anything Chinese. But realistically I know that things are made there including some things I want/need. But it's a big difference to buy something made at a known company's Chinese factory versus buying a cloned copyright infringing item at some unknown Chinese factory. The Vevor is the latter.

Thanks for sorting that out, I was trying to put some words together to that effect but I am low on coffee.
Lots of stuff made in China we know about, some we don't. Sadly we have lost a lot of manufacturing edge to offshore countries.

Yes they are honest about it and print it right on the label.
Surprisingly the increase in quality coming from China too?
I have been looking at the Icon tools from Harbor Freight. But they sure have raised prices!

No way I would buy any Icon stuff for that reason. Priced way too high for what it is. You can find a lot of new or nearly new Snap-On stuff on ebay for 1/2 of list. There are a lot of good used tools on Ebay.
