I just finished reading the new tech manual and have a couple questions about UV resistance with the SS .

Using Universal Clear/base coat as a base line:
How good is the UV resistance of the single stage?
How good is the UV resistance with 50% Universal added to the last coat?
Will color sanding the ss with or without Universal mixed in the final coat affect the UV resistance.

Thanks.

A good SS should have about the same amount of UV as a clear..

With a 50/50 clear on last coat, its not the UV as much as the top pigments of the SS are not exposed to the elements.

It appears that the current SS offering is based on 2.1 Production Clear technology, so in theory, SPI Universal Clear should have the edge in buffability and overall longevity compared to Production Clear technology.

That said, no basecoat (even SPI) can beat the durability, flexibility, and UV resistance of a single stage urethane. So SPI single stage, followed by an SPI Urethane clear coat, will provide the ultimate in finish quality and durability, with the caveat that 'thane wave must be managed carefully when applying multiple coats of any high build urethane product
